If you are in crisis or if you have thoughts of harming yourself or others, you should immediately contact your healthcare practitioner (general practitioner of mental health professional) or your nearest emergency department. 3. Talking2Ourselves

Provides help and information on mental health issues to young people (aged 12 - 14 years) who are either having difficulties themselves, are worried about a friend or relative, or just want to know more about emotional well-being.

2. NHS Living Life Telephone Support


Telephone service based on a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy approach available to anyone over 16 feeling low, anxious or depressed. The service can be accessed either through GP referral or phoning the number directly on 0800 328 9655 (Mon-Fri 1pm to 9pm) for an assessment appointment to see how help can be provided. Types of telephone support available:

Living Life Guided Self Help - workbook based telephone sessions with a self-help Coach over 6-8 weeks

Living Life CBT - short term specialist support with a qualified therapist over 6-9 telephone sessions.

1. Depression Alliance

Run self-help courses and local support groups. Depression Alliance does not currently run a helpline but you can call the information pack request line on 0845 123 23 20 to leave your name and address- they will then send you an information pack. All calls will be charged at the local rate. You can also request the information pack by email.
